Steve and John took over ownership of The Rug Gallery in 2003. The Gallery was originally opened by Christopher Sharp in 1989, with a small shop located in Kappara, eventually moving to the current premises on the Qui Si Sana seafront in Sliema in 1994. Steve joined the business in the early days of the business, selling rugs from the gallery to the Maltese market where he quickly learned the industry, soon becoming one of the leading experts in the hand knotted rug industry, gaining trust from our repeat customers.

Steve has a deep appreciation for his craft and for his loyal and devoted customers who, over the years have grown with him and become part of the family. We at the Rug Gallery believe that rugs should completely compliment one’s lifestyle, whether modern, contemporary or traditional hand-knotted rugs. Home interiors should allow us to become comfortable in our surroundings without inhibition. We strongly believe that rugs are meant to be lived with, not around.
